JR Construction Building & Design has been in business for over 30 years. We build custom homes from start to finish with our own framing & finish crew. Because we are such a small company, you can enjoy a "personal" touch throughout the building process. Communication is key, which is why we utilize an online platform for all selections and messaging with our clients. Whether you are looking to remodel your home or you are ready to build you dream home, we would love to work with you. We can build a home off of your existing set of architecture plans or we can help you design your home from scratch.

John Plichta
Founder & Officer
John has been a general contractor for over 30 years. He is a Certified Green Builder and he is constantly educating himself on the latest & greatest building technology. In his "spare" time, you can find him at FarmHouse Vineyards - an organic vineyard in Petoskey that he and his wife, Nancy, opened for business in July 2020!
Dan Plichta
Project Manager & Owner
Dan has worked for JR Construction for over 20 years. He is the foreman on all projects - he has a great eye for design. Dan is fluent in AutoCad and he takes great pride in his finish work. When he isn't onsite, Dan enjoys being outdoors with his wife, Julie, and their two children.
Julie Plichta
Office Manager
Julie has worked for JR Construction for over 5 years. She manages the day to day operations and frequently communicates with the homeowners. Julie is also a stay-at-home mom with Ethan (2) and Paige (6).
